New Jewellery Bits

I just thought I would share with you some of my new jewellery choices I've picked up recently. Lately have been getting more into wearing jewellery and getting back into wearing earrings. I was looking around Lilac Rose in Cambridge which is a beautiful little shop, perfect for finding gifts or treating yourself to jewellery, clothing or other accessories. I came across two brands that I hadn't previously heard of  Orelia London and Estella Bartlett. I picked up the Estella Bartlett gold bee necklace and a multipack of earrings from Orelia when I was there. I had always wanted a little bee necklace and the Estella Bartlett one was the nicest one I had seen, other ones I had seen either didn't look very bee-like or was very large for what I was looking for. I just wish they did matching gold earrings!



I then saw on Lisa Angel's Instagram the Orelia Mini Coin and Horn Necklace in Gold which I thought was a very affordable dupe for the Missoma x Lucy Williams necklaces that I see all over Instagram. I purchased mine on the Orelia website because it had sold out on Lisa Angel so I think other people had clocked on to it being a good affordable dupe!

Winsor Bishop Jewellers

Winsor Bishop Jewellers on Trinity Street, Cambridge invited myself and other local bloggers to the store to be introduced to the brand and to try some beautiful pieces on. Winsor Bishop is a trusted independent family British jewellers established in 1834, based in Norwich and recently launching in Trinity Street Cambridge. Winsor Bishop is renowned for one of the ­best portfolios of Swiss watches in the country such as Patek Philippe, Rolex, Breitling, Omega, Bremont and Tag Heuer; all sitting alongside an exquisite collection of high end diamond, precious stones and pearl jewellery and the iconic Winsor Bishop House Collection.



The store on Trinity Street is so sleek and elegant, just like its jewellery! The staff were so approachable and welcoming. We were given glasses of champagne and little cakes while we tried on some of the beautiful pieces.



These are some of my favourite pieces I saw on the night. The diamonds they use are hand mined by an expert who travels the world to collect the jewels for the store, which are then designed in house. This means you can tweak designs or design your own piece which they can help





They also offer Jewellery Design, Watch Servicing & Repairs, Jewellery Services and Check, Valuations, Interest Free Credit and Pre-owned Watches.

They have also just launched Halycon Days in their store, where they have created a variety of hand-decorated and hinged enamel bangles.

I was amazed that for a solid style bangle how comfortably it sat on my wrist. They are an affordable option for gifts as well starting at around £85 which if you chipped in with friends could be an good gift option.

Vanity Tour!

Its come to the time that I have become happy with how I store all my beauty bits and pieces. I was on a fairly restricted budget as well as the space in my room was rather restricted to a desk about 100cm or smaller so it took me a while to get the right desk and drawers etc.



It is a bit of an IKEA fest with the desk, drawers, mirror, lights and some of the extra storage being from there. I got the white MICKE desk with the matching draws which fits perfectly in my tight space I had to work with. The mirror is the NISSEDAL mirror (you could also substitute this with the STAVE but I didn't like the colour with my room) and the MUSIK wall lights which we had to wire so that they could be plugged in as they are designed for a bathroom (this was very simple DIY and all over Pinterest!). The stool is LULEA* from Maison Du Monde, with my obsession with copper I had to get this stool with its copper legs!



The copper basket underneath my desk is what I used to store skincare in because I have a ridiculous amount of. I picked it up from H&M for £17.99 from their home collection. I also have another small Primark copper basket for new skincare or doubles of products that are new. As for other storage I have a old Nutella jar for my cotton buds, Kilner drinking glasses for my cotton pads and small brushes, SKURAR pot from IKEA for bigger brushes and a lipstick holder from Homesense (the little Hello sign was from Paperchase).



As for my other makeup storage I have the GODMORGON box with compartments on top of my drawers for my go to all the time makeup products. Then in my draws its all a bit free flowing other that the Ferraro Rocher lid that it containing some smaller bits of makeup in my draws. Finding draw dividers for these draws hasn't been easy as they are shallow and not that wide but the Ferraro Rocher box lid worked well!

 

With the large draw my pallets keep works as a sort of jigsaw so that they don't move around when the draw opens and closes. Even though the desk is small you can get an idea of how much you can fit in it here.

Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturizer

I was so excited when I saw Origins was releasing a tinted moisturiser* version of my favourite moisturiser! I was even more excited when I saw that it had SPF 40! Of course I had to order this as soon as I could and I love it!

 

The other thing I like about Origins is that the carton packaging is made from 50% post-consumer recycled fibre and manufactured using only wind or hydropower. This product would be perfect for holidays with it being 50ml you can easily take it abroad for a natural glow with SPF 40.



You can see in these photos that it comes out whitish and then changes as you rub it in to a glowing skin colour. It hydrates, energizes, perfects and protects; with coffee beans and Panax Ginseng it instantly boosts with moisture and energy levels.



As you can see it is quite a sheer tint but its fine for no makeup or minimal makeup days; nothing a little concealer cant fix!. It gives a lovely glow to you skin and smells fresh.

iQuiz Nights at Revolution Cambridge

I know this is a bit of an unusual blog post from me but I thought it was worth mentioning as a fun night out if you are in the Cambridge area. Revolution in Cambridge hosts a quiz every Tuesday evening from 7 that is free to enter and you can win vouchers to spend there. Alice, Becca and I went along this week and much to our surprise managed to win the quiz and took home a £25 Revolution voucher!



We started off with some drinks before the quiz to help limber up our brains. I went for a strawberry daiquiri, Becca had a strawberry spritz and Alice had a popping espresso martini.

 

We grabbed some pizzas as well just before the quiz kicked off which were really nice, I would definitely return even just for the pizza!

The way the quiz works is that you have an app on your phone you have to download before beginning (which is free) to then be able to join in submitting the answers. Some questions were multiple choice out of A,B,C,D or the alphabet came up and you had to pick the first letter of the answer. There were three rounds to the quiz and it was just the right length for something to do on a Tuesday night! The quiz is also free to take part in you just need to have the SpeedQuizzing app on a smartphone or tablet and teams of up to four. There were questions on Films, TV, Music, Sport, Harry Potter and Star Wars, so there was plenty of variety.

Go give it a go! You never know, you may be surprised how many questions you can answer!

New Skincare Additions

I just thought I would do a quick blog post about a few new skincare additions I have picked up over the past couple of weeks.

I also went for a ESPA facial  at my local John Lewis in Cambridge in one on their beauty rooms. I would really recommend the whole experience. My skin felt so good and pampered when I left and learnt a bit more about my skin than I once thought. I also picked up the Essential Cleansing Mask which has multiple uses including being able to just pop onto spots to help clear them up to wearing it as an overnight mask. The Essential Cleansing Mask is a deeply cleansing, mineral-rich clay mask that helps purify and balance excess oils, while hydrating and calming skin. As well as these little skincare bits I picked up Lisa Potter-Dixon's brand new book The Make-up Manual. This is Lisa's second book following her Easy on the Eyes book. If you didn't know Lisa is Benefit Cosmetics Head Make-up and Trend Artist and Brow Expert. This book is a beauty bible perfect for those who are new to makeup and skincare or want to expand their knowledge. There are so many helpful tips and tricks in the book and across her social media (Check out her YouTube page for fab tutorials).

Too Faced Natural Love Eye Shadow Collection

ITS HERE! I cannot tell you how long I waited to get my hands on this beauty. I have been a big lover of Too Faced eyeshadows for a few years now due to their beautiful colours and their pigmentation so I knew I had to get my hands on this one. It consists of 30 eyeshadows with some of the favourites from the bestselling Natural Eyes, Natural Matte, and Natural At Night palettes, but also some new and exclusive shades.



First off I love the details in the packaging; the font and little flowers on it are flocked and it has a magnetic close which I think it good for if you travelled with it so it does open as easily. There is a really good mix of matte and shimmer shades in the palette so its very versatile. Did you know Too Faced invented the first ever glitter eyeshadow?! I swathed the colours in two rows vertically down the palette but up my arm so you can get a glimpse of the shades.























If you are wanting an all-rounder neutral eyeshadow palette I would really recommend this one, it is a bit of an investment but you get a good amount of product for your money. It is available in Debenhams now but I think it is also available in Selfridges and the Too Faced website.
