Spring Beauty Event at John Lewis

Last week some local bloggers and I went to John Lewis in Cambridge for an exclusive evening of pampering treats, fabulous prize draw, fizz and nibbles, live music and a goody bag!

During the evening each brand were showcasing their spring launches and trends. We also got given a little preview of the AND/OR clothing brand. The idea behind the brand is it starts with denim and its exclusive to John Lewis, designed by Californian duo Calvin Rucker bringing their denim pedigree and LA style to a curated collection of authentic cuts, heritage, washes and ultimate finishes. London's urban edge is the inspiration for a brilliant edit of day-to-night heels, vintage-style jackets and easy blouses to complement the jeans.

I love so many pieces in this new range and they also brought out lingerie range which is gorgeous!

My attention on the Bobbi Brown stand had to be the Remedies which is part of their serums and treatments range. I love the different things to use depending on their skin concerns and the consistency of them is beautiful.

Lots of people were finding their perfect lip colours from both Mac and Channel. The people the work on these counters are the perfect people to talk to if you have any makeup queries or just need help picking the best products.

This YSL lipstick collection was just so stunning I had to take a picture of its beauty!

This is the contents of my goody bag; two Very Victoria Charlotte Tilbury lipstick samples, Aveda be curly shampoo, Clarins double serum, Espa ProMoisturiser and Tri-Active serum, Living Proof healthy hair mask, Acqua di Parma cologne, Ritual body cream and Lancôme Advanced Génifique .

Glamour Beauty Festival 2017

I went along to the Glamour Beauty Festival last sunday and I just thought I'd show you a few bits from it and the amazing goodie bag!

First off I couldn't not go to Sloane Square without stopping by the most instagramable bakery, Peggy Porschen! It was absolutely delicious even though it was a tad pricey it was well worth the trip!

I didn't take a huge amount of pictures once I was in the festival because I spent most of it in a queue!

I had my hair done at the GHD stand as well as my base makeup reapplied at Laura Mercier which I completely fell in love with. I went for Tussled Curls at the GHD stand and I wish my hair was like this everyday.

I also went to the Fresh stand and tried a Glow Up facial on my hand as I'd just had my makeup done. I loved the concept behind the products and they all felt so nice on my skin. I found the lip scrub and tinted lip treatment which is possibly the softest textured lip product I have every tried!

Here is  the amazing goodie bag contents; Fiat branded lip balm, Estee Edit Pink Peony Overnight mask, Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, Laura Mercier Caviar stick eye colour, Marc Jacobs delux sample Velvet Noir mascara, Nars Le Orgasm blush, Caudalie micellar water, HD brow define pencil, Fresh Soy cleanser, Pixi glow mist, Eylure lashes, GHD advanced split end therapy, OGX Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo & Conditioner, Redken Shine Flash 02 Glistening Mist, Garnier Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash, Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask, Super-Hydrating Revitalising Mask, Garnier Moisture Bomb Protect, Multi-Protecting Hydrating Mist and Elegant Touch Nails.

Origins Skin that Blossoms Mothers Day Event

On Friday 24th March, Origins will host an intimate skincare workshop in their Cambridge store on Rose Crescent. To celebrate the launch of Flower Fusion™ - our new flower-powered sheet masks, Origins have partnered with VV Raven Flowers who transformed the store into a pop up florist. She hosted an intimate flower arranging master class and we also got to take home our own beautiful handmade bouquet just in time for Mother’s Day.

We were treated to some lovely cakes and prosecco on arrival and then had a skincare workshop lead by Jenny showing us the skincare ranges for both mothers and daughters. We then split off into groups and whilst one of the pair had a facial the other got to make their own bouquet. Jo (creator of VV Raven) had impeccable taste in spring flowers to turn into little jam jar bouquets, she also had some available to buy which were gorgeous.

I would really recommend that you go and book a facial in the Origins store in Cambridge either for a bit of pampering or to get you skincare questions answered! Keep and eye out on their Cambridge tab on their website to stay up to date with other future events!

Origins Hygge Evening

My friend Emma and I went along to the Origins Hygge event in the Cambridge flagship store on Rose Crescent.  Hygge (pronounced ‘hue-gah’) is a Danish word that describes the feeling of being cosy, comfortable and at peace with the world. The event was the first-ever Origins Hygge event and it was to discover the Danish art of happiness and relaxation. They were offering an unforgettable skincare experience including facials and head, hand and arm massages.

I have to say it smelt amazing in the store as they were burning their Pine, Spruce and Orange and Ginger, Bergamont and Clove candles all round the store. We started off with some breathing exercises to get us into a relaxed mood ready for the luxurious relaxing treatments to come.

While waiting for our head massages we tried out the Feel Good Hug, this one we tried was cinnamon, clove and lemon. I fell in love with product, using it on my shoulders was so nice after carrying so many heavy bags around on my right shoulder it was nice to heat the muscles up. I would imagine it would be very beneficial at women's time of the month as well!

When we had our head massages they used the Peace of Mind On-the-Spot Relief sensory product. I would certainly like to start and end each day with one of these head massages! We then followed our head massage up with a hand and arm massage using the ginger range.

We got some little goodies to take home with us, a Full size Comfort Moods hand cream and a mini High Potency Night-A-Mins Mineral-enriched renewal cream.

I would definitely recommend you pop into the Cambridge store for future events or even just to discover the amazing skincare ranges. The Origins website has a tab just for the Cambridge store so you can keep up to date with what is going on in store!

Origins Flower Fusion Face Masks

You may have seen these amazing new face masks over on my Nature's Beauty Workshop post but I thought I'd show you them in a bit more detail. I think they are currently only available on Origins website or in the flagship store in Cambridge.  They retail for £5 each or at the moment there is an offer to try all six for £25!

There are six different masks all for different skincare needs. Raspberry*is for refreshing, Lavender* is soothing, Rose* is for hydrating, Jasmine* for softening, Orange* for radiance boosting and Violet* for nourishing.  I personally have tried to Rose and the Lavender and I think my favourite so far is the Violet though I did also just pick up the Raspberry one to try out.

"Inspired by the naturally radiant beauty of florals, each sheet mask helps to provide an instant boost of radiance and dewy moisture. Crafted with natural Bamboo and formulated with pure flower extracts, each of our six single use sheet masks provides a unique essential oil blend to deliver an ideal sensorial experience and deliver specific skin benefits." - Origins

With them being in these cute little packages it really easy to throw in your bag if your going away for a little pamper session. You don't have to rinse your face after using these masks, simply pat in the remaining essence. They smell lovely and really feel like they are working on your skin. When I used the Rose mask I really felt the hydration coming from the mask. If you need help to decided which mask is for you pop into the Origins store on Rose Crescent in Cambridge where they can do a consultation to find your masking needs.

Too Faced Cat Eyes Palette

I picked up this little beauty in HomeSense  for £10 the other day and had to share it with you. It is still on the Too Faced website but at a further discount who could say no in HomeSense! The packaging is so cute with a leopard print metal casing which feels nice and sturdy to bring with you as well as being handbag sized.

The pigmentation of these eyeshadows is incredible. They have a very smooth creamy feeling to them which is really comfortable to wear even the shiny shades. You could easily go from day to night by mixing up the shades. I tried them wet and dry as that is what is recommended and when I used them wet the pigmentation is even better! The longevity is also fabulous when I used them they lasted for hours!

I think my favourite shade has to be Tiger's Eye because its a gorgeous bronzy brown which is perfect for day or night looks because you can use it as a wash of colour of vamp it up with a darker colour in the crease. I often prefer to use a shadow instead of a liner along my lash line and these eyeshadows work so well dry or wet along my lash line to really make my lashes look fuller. Let me know what you think of these shades but I think they are all very useable and perfect for travelling.
