My Christmas Gift Guide 2018🎅🏻

Its coming to the time of year where its time to hit the shops in aim to get the perfect Christmas presents. I've put together a collection of gifts that I think are suitable for a whole range of different people in your life, from your bff to your uncle.

For the foodie I found a few perfect gifts for those who love a tipple or a nibble at Christmas time.

The first thing for foodies I found is possibly the most exciting present I saw and perfect for all the family (or yourself I'm not judging😉) Personalised Quality Street tins. Pick three or more of your favourite flavours to fill your tin, in selected John Lewis & Partners (Oxford Street, Glasgow and Trafford) you can even have the tin personalised and keep to refill year after year. Available at John Lewis & Partners Bluewater, Cambridge, Cheadle, Cribbs Causeway, High Wycombe, Kingston, Liverpool and Westfield White City.

The second gift I saw was the John Lewis & Partners Red Wine and Nibbles Christmas Hamper. This eclectic mix of of nibbles is the perfect all-rounder present and at £40 its not going to break the bank. Coming in a black and white hamper its a ready-to-go gift with minimal effort but still thoughtful for anyone busy in the run up to the festive season. There are so many other hampers by John Lewis I just picked this one out as I thought the price point was good.

For the baker in your family I saw this little Penguin Cookie Baking Mix, complete with a penguin cutter. Perfect as a secret Santa gift or as a stocking filler. Also a good thing to keep kids busy this Christmas when the toys loose interest. They also do a unicorn version should that be more appropriate for your recipient!

The last thing I thought of for those who like a tipple, the people at Edinburgh Gin have brought out so many good sets this year. The one that I thought was so pretty and instagrammable was the Rhubarb and Ginger Liqueur and Glasses set.  The two branded cocktail glasses that come with the set are perfect for that evening tipple and the reverse of the box has a cocktail serving suggestion for the set. Its one of their bestselling flavours and good opportunity for any gin lovers to show them another distillery for them to try out.

The next two gifts I picked out seemed to be some good presents for the men in your life. First off you can't seem to go wrong with good old fashioned socks, though Happy Socks take these to a new level with their outrageous colours and design. They have a selection of different designs contained in a cracker for the ultimate Christmas socks.  I also thought this Barbour Land Rover Defender Belt and Card Holder gift set, exclusive to John Lewis. This little luxury set is a thoughtful but handy gift for any man in your life whether its your other half or family member.

This year a lot of us were obsessed with blue Planet this year and our environmental impact so something I thought that was a good gift for those who like their morning coffee on the go or to carry cold water re-usable bottles have been on the rise. S'well drinking bottles are the perfect gift for those caffeine addicts or people up on their hydration. They come in so many different designs as well as either 260ml or 500ml sizes so there is one for everyone.

On the subject of hot drinks what else is the perfect way to have a cosy evening than to have some festive pjs and a toasty hot water bottle. These could either be Christmas gifts or part of a Christmas Eve box. There are so many good PJ sets at John Lewis but I went for the Mon Etoile Cotton Pyjama Set with Eye Mask and the cosiest looking Rose Quartz hot water bottle. I can just imagine sitting by a fire with a hot chocolate cosied up, the perfect way to spend cold winter nights.

On the theme of cosy there are some really nice hats and gloves around to keep you warm. My favourite set is the Chunky Lovely Colour Block Beanie Hat and Chunky Lovely Colour Block Snood in Navy Mix. There is also a matching jumper to the hat and scarf which would also be a nice addition. It comes in three different colour block combos but the navy is my favourite.

And now for the beauty gift selection. This was the hardest to narrow down because frankly I want all the beauty gift sets.

My skincare gift set I chose was the ESPA Nourish Treats Skincare Gift Set. This little set includes their Overnight Hydration Therapy, Pink Hair and Scalp Mud and Nourishing Lip Treatment. This is the perfect introduction to ESPA skincare. Definitely one for those who love a spa day, the products smell amazing and work wonders for your skin.

The second set I saw was the Molton Brown Seductive Rituals Gift Set which looked like the perfect pamper evening. The set includes Jasmine & Sun Rose Bath & Shower Gel, Delicious Rhubarb & Rose Mini Scented Candle and Fiery Pink Pepper Fine Liquid Hand Wash. This set it the perfect way to test out the brand and at a good price of £30 for 2x100ml and a 30g candle. Rhubarb and Rose is my favourite Molton Brown fragrance, but this set is perfect for anyone wanting to try out three different scents in one set!

This gift is a bit of an extravagant one but could change your hair styling forever. The new Dyson Airwrap Volume + Shape Styler is the newest way to style and shape your hair on the market. I've seen this in action on other influencers channels and seen it in action on Dyson counters at John Lewis stores and I'm super impressed. Its certainly not a small price-tag but as something that could be pivotal in your hair regime.

The fourth beauty pic I went for was the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter Macaron Kit. These adorable little macarons come in 4 different shades; Opal, Vanilla Quartz, Rose Quartz and Prismatic Amethyst. These are the ideal travel size for the glow on the go.

Onto the last gift idea, and still on the theme of sparkle the perfect edition to you highlighters is this beautiful Kate Spade New York Burgess Court Briley Small Makeup Bag in Soft Gold.  As you can tell from my blog I'm pretty Kate Spade obsessed so of course I had to include this little makeup bag. You could even just use it as a handbag tidy, I just think its so pretty and sparkly perfect for Christmas.

I've now come to the end of my top picks of what to gift this Christmas. How prepared are you this year at buying your presents?

Mini Homeware Haul🏠

Now I am not yet a homeowner, but I have a theory that if I can pre-buy some homeware things before I move I can focus on spending money on moving and larger home pieces like sofas and furniture. I've gathered a few bits over the past couple of months so I thought I'd share them with you because I'm really happy with them.

The first thing I picked up was a essential for me and I thought about them so much I had to buy them. This white 12 piece marble effect dinner set* from Next was the thing that got be planning ahead. I'm obsessed with marble and thought this was still fairly neutral for any place I might move into.

The second purchase was also from Next on the marble and copper theme. These marble effect staking mugs *were just up my street so I had to pick them up, with being stacking I thought they would be space saving being only 19cm tall. They're also dishwasher proof so handy even though they have metallic writing on them.

The next thing I picked up wasn't the cheapest but it was an investment I thought worthwhile. I picked up two West Elm Hex side tables (antique brass) from John Lewis as ex-display models at £127 each. I thought these would be perfect side tables for a bedroom, I use one as a bedside table in my bedroom at the moment and its the perfect size. I'm really carful as to what I put on it because of being solid marble topped but she's a beauty.

I'm planning on repainting my bedroom grey and pink so when  I saw these towels in Matalan I picked them up because they were super cute and such a good price. I got the hand towel and bath sheet size of the striped embroidered border towels and the hand towel sized 100% cotton pink geometric towel. They're super soft and under £10 so couldn't go wrong with these!

The last thing I got was definitely an investment at over £200 but this particular Cream KitchenAid was reduced to clear at John Lewis with over £100 off. The offer was too good to miss so it came home with me. I think these are just such handy and timeless kitchen appliances to have so the investment was worth while.

What were the homeware pieces you first picked up? I'm curious to know!

Easter Home Decor

I am very much one for seasonal home décor, so I thought I would share my favourites things. One of my go to places to pick decorative pieces up is HomeSense and TK Maxx. With the pieces being seasonal I don't like to spend loads of money for stuff that's only up for a few weeks a year so those places are perfect to pick stuff up.

The first thing I picked up this year was a two tier bunny stand from TK Maxx for £14.99. My thinking behind this purchase was I can use it for a Easter inspired afternoon tea or for displaying little chocolate eggs. For demonstration purposes I put together a quick supermarket dash version of a Easter afternoon tea; hot cross buns, French foundant fancies with gummy carrots on top, Cadbury nest cakes and a chocolate bunny Oreo from Chunkydunkchocs. Chunkydunkchocs is a company set up by my lovely friend Tiff and she makes chocolate slabs and trays, perfect for personalised gifts for you chocolate lovers (IG @chunkydunkchocs).

My next purchases were from TK Maxx and HomeSense, a bunny holding an egg vase and a speckled egg wreath. I mainly got the vase to go with my stand and the white ceramic vibe but also for the fact it looks so adorable with spring flowers coming out the top of the cracked egg. The one downside to this vase it that I think it isn't sealed properly and I've had to sit it in a tray as water is leaking but for £3.99 I think its adorable. The floral speckled egg wreath was a steal at £6.99 as I had seen similar ones for £20+ I had to pick it up. It hasn't got a good way of hanging so its currently propped up on my mantle piece.

Then I have my Easter tree, I use curly willow from my garden and pop it in an Oliver Bonas vase I bought a while ago. I picked up some pastel coloured speckled eggs from tiger for £1, the little plain coloured eggs from Gisella Graham I got for 99p in a charity shop and the little pink chicken from the Parsley Pot in Bury St Edmunds.  I wish I could have the Easter tree up all year because their really pretty and pastel.

Festive Blooms with Bloom and Wild

I'm a true believer that fresh flowers can make you feel cosy and house-proud, in fact I miss being home to admire them when I'm out of the house!  I recently became an ambassador for Bloom and Wild who are a fabulous team that create beautiful bouquets that are posted through your letterbox so there is no waiting around for a postman! They always pick seasonally and change up the designs - the bunch I picked up this month was the limited edition Festive Charm bouquet in collaboration with Nikki Tibbles; who is one of the most celebrated British florists, with a shop in Liberty and commissions by Chanel, Dior and Kensington Palace.

An eclectic offering bursting with colour and delicious fragrance, Festive Charm is a warming arrangement of 'All For Love' roses in pink and ombré together with delicate skimmia and golden eucalyptus for a little spritz of magic. The eucalyptus symbolises good fortune and health, making this the ideal gift during the festive season months.

I'm obsessed with how vivid the colour of the roses are in this bouquet which change over time contrasting with the golden eucalyptus and pine. The mix of wild flowers with bold roses just works to create a really extravagant look which is the thing I love about Bloom and Wild. Whats even better is that by using my link you can get 20% off your order! http://bit.ly/LucyRBloomandWild

My Favourite Autumn Scents

The time has come where summer has gone and in comes Autumn and Winter. I'm a big fan of the colder seasons purely my love of jumpers, hot chocolates, autumn colours and cinnamon. It is also the time of year I love to have candles lit and especially fragranced ones so I thought I would share my three most burnt candles for this time of year.

Yankee Candle Cinnamon Stick is a classic for cinnamon lovers. I find it a warm and cosy scent and makes me feel very festive and seasonal. I find it also makes me crave pumpkin spice food. The lids on Yankee Candles are also great so you don't get the fragrance faded because of them being so tight.

The White Company Winter candle* is my all time favourite seasonal fragrance. You can smell it without even burning the candle which is possibly why I think its worth the investment in The White Company's fragrances. Of all their seasonal fragrances Winter is my personal best because of the balance of citrus and spice. If festive is your thing, go for this one and you won't be disappointed!

The last candle I have burned a lot is this soy blend Harvest Festival candle I got from Homesense. I find it seems a bit bath and bodyworks in design which I like as I think the rubberised lids keep fragrances lasting longer. Its a  scent of spice but also a slightly savoury smell from the pumpkin. I can't remember exactly how much I paid but it wasn't break the bank. I really recommend trying Homesense for candles as often they have some bargains!
