Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Volume 2 Mascara

When Charlotte Tilbury brings out a new product she doesn't mess about. She just had a relaunch for her Legendary Lashes Mascara Volume 2 which is part of her Beauty Filter collection. I had used her original one last year, I was obsessed with the length and volume I got from it I had to try this new version out. Its still in this gorgeous rose gold packaging making it feel super luxurious.

Legendary Lashes Volume 2 Mascara

The bristles head is quite large so it does require a touch of attention because I can find the bristles hit my eyelid through my lashes if I try and apply it quickly but they really do hit every single lash coated in a few sweeps. It layers really nicely if you want them to be super volumized, but I tend to stick to one coat because I find its enough for my lashes. The formula is super black, called black vinyl but its perfect compared to some other black mascaras that don't quite give the same colour payoff.

Here is a little before and after of my lashes and one quick coat of the mascara. My lashes are currently going through a bit of a crazy grow in every direction phase so they're prone to interlocking at the moment, but the mascara does separate them out a bit but I think it adds significant length, colour and volume. It really is a push up for your lashes and I find the curl holds all day, formulated to be long wearing, humidity resistant and smudge proof.

Have you tried out Charlotte Tilbury's mascaras? Let me know what you think and leave meyour favourite mascara suggestions xox

Lush Father's Day 2018

Of course its come around again when Lush launches a seasonal range so I thought  would jump on here to show you their new Father's Day collection for this year. My dad is a hard one to buy for but I do know he likes a good relaxing bath after working out or a long day at work, so buying him bath products is always a good present. They did have a new naked beard oil and naked shower gel but I went with the bath products.

The first thing I picked up was this Superdad bath bomb because its a fun design and smells super fresh and clean. With uplifting and soothing Sandalwood Oil and sweet an woody Olibanum Oil it doesn't just make your bath smell amazing its also perfect for unwinding after a long day at the office. I definitely think it will be hard to not keep this for myself! It also turns the water a fabulous shade of blue making it inviting to dive into the warm relaxing waters.

The Fun For All The Family is a new concept product to me being a bubble spinner. This sparkly spinner is designed like the infamous fidget spinners that were so 2017 but this one fills your bath with hundreds of citrus bubbles. You simply hold the little wooden centre and let it spin under the running tap and then set aside to dry for use again. This has a much sweeter scent with Sweet Wild Orange Oil and Lime Oil as key ingredients to this bubble spinner, also giving you protective, refreshing and toning effects from the ingredients as well as the fabulous scent.

The Modfather  is perfect for those fathers wanting to revisit their youth through this Royal Air force roundel shaped bubble bar. The fresh uplifting scent of Brazilian Orange Oil makes for a refreshing and rejuvenating bath with Cornflower making your skin feel clean and soft ready for a trip out on your motor scooter. I really like bubble bars because a little goes a long way and they can be used for multiple baths so I think they're worth buying over the bath bombs.

What are you going to treat your Dad to this Father's day? I think mine will get a beer and a relaxing bath!

John Lewis is the home of exclusivity this year with many of its own brands extending their products this SS18, especially AND/OR and Modern Rarity. Only available here both brands have just launched their own jewellery lines and there is something for everyone with the different tastes.

As a brand AND/OR works as a base from Great denim works with everything and it makes everything work. AND/OR is a new brand inspired by this simple formula. With West Coast cool and London style, this collection takes you wherever you want to go. AND/OR's jewellery is in collaboration with Made. One of the most versatile pieces I think is this Gold Long Multi Bevelled Disc Curb Chain Necklace with matching Multi Bevelled Disc Curb Gold EarringsChannel your fashionista with these striking drop earrings from AND/OR. The necklace is perfect to add a nonchalant and bohemian inspiration to your look. Perfect for layering or wearing as a single-strand design, the necklace has a traditional curb chain with multiple disc charms. Each disc is presented with a hammered texture for a maximum impact. Matching with the necklace these The classic drop design on the earrings is reinvented with this pair by offering multiple hammered discs; The long design will flatter your profile. I teamed the jewellery with my favourite scarf from the SS18 collection is the Nevada Floral Tassel Scarf  which is perfect for dressing up or down an outfit with being such a tactile and contemporary fabric, with the dark colour against bright yellow floral pattern.

Modern Rarity redefines luxury for today. Inspired by the ethos of fewer, better pieces, the collection offers a fresh take on wardrobe staples. These are unique, effortless pieces that complement one another. Defined by sophisticated cut, luxurious fabric and understated silhouette, they create a contemporary look. Dedicated to design, devoted to quality. Luxury redefined. I really like the simplicity of the design of these pieces and they're timeless. It is a higher price tag but it is designed in the UK, comprises diamonds, gemstones and sterling silver with gold vermeil plating – beautifully finished in contemporary shapes.

My favourite pieces are the Diamond Linked Hoop Gold Pendant Necklace with matching Diamond Large Link Hoop Drop EarringsThis chic and fine piece will elevate any day-to-night ensemble effortlessly. It comes in solid sterling silver with an optional gold-plated finish. It presents two irregular interlinked circle elements. One of the circles is adorned with sparkling brilliant-cut diamonds. The necklace fastens with an extension and a spring ring clasp. The earrings are crafted from sterling silver, the earrings offer a high-shine finish. The smaller element is set with dazzling brilliant-cut diamonds. I also love the Diamond Teardrop Rings that come in Silver, Gold and Rose Gold. They stack beautifully together if you so wish and sparkle away like a dream. The teardrop design also has a coordinating necklace and bracelet.

Rimmel Match Perfection Collection

I just received a complimentary Rimmel London Vox Box from Influenster to celebrate their Match Perfection Foundation*. The foundation is now available in 25 shades that match 99% of UK skin tones. They also sent the Match Perfection Concealer* which has 6 new shades and their 7 new nude shades of the Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour.
Thought I would include a little half face shot of just the foundation and then my full face with foundation and concealer. The Match Perfection foundation claims to blend with the skin's real tone instead of masking it. Also described as a weightless, smooth texture its designed to deliver visibly perfected and healthier looking skin with Smart-Tone technology for natural looking skin. It says it has a 24 hour moisture complex, soft-focus powers help reduce imperfections, pores & dark circles and up to SPF 20 so not only is it evening your skin out it has some extra benefits. It says its a medium coverage which I would say if you want a natural base this is good but definitely not full coverage. I did find the shade range pretty good for budget makeup so thumbs up to Rimmel for that and the shade suited my skin pretty well (Light Porcelain 10) and didn't really oxidise which I often get with budget foundations.
The Match Perfection Concealer has been  interesting to try out as I never tend to try budget concealers. I did find the brush tip a good alternative to a doe foot applicator but to get the product from the squeezy part of the packaging to the brush wasn't the easiest and I imagine once it starts to get a bit empty it'll be near impossible to get it out. The colour match was really good for me but the shade range is still quite small. Its more of a light to medium coverage which wasn't quite enough to cover any blemish I have at the moment or the vein I have under my eye quite to the level I get from my Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer. But it didn't crease and it super comfortable to wear so I think I need to try it out a bit more before I truly decide if this could make its way permanently into my makeup bag.
I finished off my look with the Rimmel Magnif'eyes eyeshadow palette, Wonder'fully Real mascara (see my previous about them here) and finally the Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour in Stripped and Be My Baby* to create a slight Ombré lip. They were super pigmented and went on really easily. They're kiss-proof, touch-proof, waterproof; after eating brunch and having drinks it still stayed strong so I'm very impressed in the lasting power of these lipsticks.

Have you tried this Rimmel range out? Let me know what you think! Thank you to Influenster for sending me these products complimentary to try out!

Origins x Madeleine Shaw Glow-Co-Nuts Mask!🥥

Surprise! Another Origins post! But when their new launches are so good how can you not expect me to write about them! The new Origins x Madeleine Shaw Glow-Co-Nuts Hydrating Coconut Moisture Mask* is the newest edition to the Origins face mask family. Glow-Co-Nuts Mask is a fluffy whipped mask with Coconut, Apricot, Lemon, Orange and Lime oils inspired by nutritionist Madeleine Shaw and her love of coconuts and natural ingredients. It’s currently a UK Exclusive, available for a limited time only. Designed to instantly hydrate & boost glow. Skin feels plumped & healthier-looking. What I also like about the mask is that the mask is 100% vegan as well as the packaging is 100% recyclable, Origins and Madeleine both believe in clean beauty which I think adds to my love of their products

To use the mask you can apply it in the  morning or night after cleansing for 10 minutes, two three times a week for an instant rush of moisturisation to soften and smooth Or apply overnight to restore moisture lost while you sleep – apply a generous layer to your skin after cleansing, tissue off excess and leave on while you sleep. Skin awakens plumped, refreshed and supple. I personally use it both overnight or as a quick mask depending on how much moisture my skin needs.

Glow-Co-Nuts  is packed full of natural ingredients, like coconut oil as well as delicious blend of 100% essential oils Pineapple, Apricot and Lime – it’s like a delicious, fluffy soufflé for your face! Coconut Oil is a an excellent moisturiser and is known to have powerful antioxidant properties. Apricot Kernel Oil is rich in essential fatty acids like Oleic and Linoleic plus Vitamins A and E. So it’s super protective, nourishing and soothing. The scent of the mask is so beautiful and gives me summer holiday vibes, the coconut scent is not chemically at all because of it being 100% essential oils.

This could be a new favourite for me over the Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask* from Origins! What is your favourite Origins product? Let me know what I should try next!

Oasis & The Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge Clothing Collaboration

Oasis's exclusive new collaboration with The Fitzwilliam Museum, the art and antiquities museum of the University of Cambridge, introduces beautiful botanical watercolours ready to put spring back into your wardrobe. With midi dresses, tailored jumpsuits and bardot dresses, this is a beautiful addition to your new spring-summer wardrobe. I went to the Fitzwilliam to celebrate the new collection with bloggers and work colleagues decked out in some pieces from the new collection. I went for the trellis wrap top and some new Oasis pale wash Jade jeans* and Helen is wearing the pencil dress*.

The Oasis-house design team has re-imagined ornithologists, naturalists and painters to deliver a range of clothes and accessories. Kate Carreno, assistant director of the Fitzwilliam Museum, said "These captivating studies will now be shared and enjoyed by a wider audience who might otherwise have been unaware of the Fitzwilliam's collection. Through these clothes and accessories we hope to expose our little known treasures to a wider audience, to inspire and create an appreciation of just how informative and beautiful these historic books and prints are. "One of the prized albums used, John James Audubon's Birds Of America (1826-1838), is regarded as the finest ornithological work ever published. Its 435 engraved and aquatinted hand-coloured plates depict 495 species, 25 of which Audubon discovered himself. Fewer than 200 sets of the original double-elephant folio edition were completed, and still fewer survive to this day. It holds the record for the most expensive printed book ever sold at auction.

The Fitzwilliam Museum's copy of The Birds Of America is one of the greatest treasures of the department of manuscripts and printed books. The Fitzwilliam Museum also has one of the most outstanding collections of flower paintings, botanical drawings, floral miniatures and albums in the world. This is due to the collector Henry Rogers Broughton 2nd Lord Fairhaven, who bequeathed his collection to the museum in 1973.

During the event we got to see the original print that Oasis had created its clothing designs from which were incredibly detailed botanic watercolours, we weren't allowed to photograph them but you can visit them by appointment. I also met up with Alice (@themiddlesis) who looked stunning in the Frill Shoulder Midi Dress*.

Model on the left wearing the Blue Frill Dress* with Fitzwilliam trainers and the second model  on the right is wearing Colour pop Suit Shorts, matching jacket, v neck cami and Fitzwilliam trainers.

The Oasis collection is available now in Oasis stores, John Lewis and House of Fraser. Let me know what you think of the collection and if you'll be picking up any pieces!

Origins Original Skin Pore Perfecting Cooling Primer 🌸

As you may have guessed I'm a rather large Origins skincare fan, so whenever there is a new launch I'm always all over it. The Original Skin collection from Origins is a go to for me as I've been using the Original Skin Renewal serum for a over a year and I'm obsessed. The scent of the collection is to die for and they have now released a Makeup Removing Jelly Cleanser* and a Matte Moisturizer with Willowherb* in addition to the Pore Perfecting Cooling Primer with Willowherb*. I have used the jelly cleanser and moisturiser and I'm a big fan but due to the large volume of cleansers and moisturiser's I already have, I couldn't add them to my collection.

The glow-to step between skincare and makeup, this cooling, airy mousse primer leaves skin looking fresh, pore-fected and softly glowing. Smooth this on after moisturiser and before makeup. When this primer says cooling it certainly is. My skin often gets hot flushes when I’m busy and this does a really good job at cooling it down, as well as adding a tint to my skin to help try and cover my redness. If I know I’m going to have a busy day I apply this in the mornings and to add a bit of glow back I’ll top it off my Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter due to it being a mattifying product.

The texture of this product is unlike any other I have seen, it's a light, bubbly mousse that comes out the packaging like an aerosol. It smooths down to a really silky cream when you apply it and the cooling effect feels so refreshing. If you're near a counter I suggest you go try it out because it's truly unique.

Let me know if you've tried any of the Original Skin Collection, and what your favourite is!
